Awesome French

What are your favorite stores to shop for clothes in France? And what do you think about fashion and France in general?

Oh…  Zara, H&M, Promod, Camaïeu, Naf-Naf, Kookai and when I have some extra-money, Maje, Zadig et Voltaire, The Kooples, American Apparel… They are the main brands. However, I shop a lot of vintage clothes, whether online or in second-hand clothes stores. 

I think that the French usually don’t “follow” what magazines say. They’d just rather have their own style than copy actors and singers’ sense of fashion. Of course they get inspired by what they see around them, but they pick details they like and mix them with vintage things or stuff like that… Everybody has his own little tricks to create their very own style. People won’t buy very fashionable brands just because there are fashionable. If it doesn’t suit their own style, they just won’t. 

The French motto about fashion could be this quote from Chanel : “La mode se démode, le style jamais.” (Fashion fades, only style remains the same.)
