Aimes-tu manger de la foie gras et du pâté? Also, did I use partitive articles correctly or should I have just used "de"?
You used them correctly, besides that Foie gras is masculine, hence you say “du foie gras” just like you did with pâté. So it’s clear for you, “du” kinda is a contraction of “de le” (totally incorrect, never use it!) what would be the masculine form of “de la”. You can also find “d’ ” when the following noun starts by a vowel.
For example :
Je bois du café (masculine) / J’ai pris un café.
Je bois de la limonade (feminine) / J’ai pris une limonade.
Je bois de la l’eau à la menthe (feminine with vowel) / J’ai pris une eau à la menthe.
I tried to find a masculine noun starting with a vowel but I’m empty handed. Anyway, it would exactly the same structure :)
And yes, I like to eat foie gras and pâté, but it’s fat and/or expensive, so I don’t eat that on a daily basis.
