Awesome French

Their music is very popular, but they’re marketing products. People agree that they aren’t music genius at all but they are nice girls so people still like them. Especially Jenifer, I think, who won the very first season of the first singing contest (“La Star Academy”) based on a reality show concept. That was the year of the forst reality shows “American-style” as we call it, so all these candidates sort of became the French’ sweethearts. That’s why Jenifer sticks around since then despite her very marketing music. The other candidates from this kind of show still around are only there because they drastically changed their image and seduced another audience. But no other “marketing” singer remained as popular as Jenifer is. 
Shy’M is the exact type of girl that Parisian suburbs’ young like, because she’s ethnic and her music style totally fits this background. She had pretty good mentors so she has one of the best R’n’B sound of the moment and she released top songs after top songs. So maybe she’ll stay around for a while, but her career is wayyyyy younger than Jenifer’s.
