Awesome French

For that anon re American cuisine: there are a few independent diners dotted around the country - I know of a few in Cannes (particularly around the Rue d'Antibes area), one or two in Nice and I'm fairly sure I've seen at least two in Paris! However, you won't really see French people dining there and they are mainly not very busy - if they are, it will be filled with tourists.
