Are there any American restaurants in France? Like anything not McDonald's. Have you ever had American cuisine?

I don’t really know what American “cuisine” is, to be honest…
All we know about here is burgers, hotdogs, bagels, cheesecakes and brownies. And technically, we don’t consider it as “cuisine” at all. Here “cuisine” implies talent, great skills to cook something most of people couldn’t do back home. I think that’s why we don’t have “American” restaurants, because in our minds, American food can’t pretend to a “restaurant”, it’s just snacks or something.
Of course we have McDonalds, places specialized in hotdogs and burgers but we don’t call them restaurants. We call them “fast-foods” or “diners” but not restaurants, like, ever. I must admit we’re a bit narrow-minded when it comes to cuisine. We’re very selective, we use the word “cuisine” very carefully. I won’t lie, we’re super protective regarding what “cuisine” is and most of world foods are considered as nice funny “things” but not cuisine xD
