Hello! This is a somewhat irrelevant question. I am going on exchange to France and I will be going into Seconde, (Première towards the end of 2013). I was wondering how challenging the levels of science and particularly maths and english would be, if you were doing the S or ES course. I'm Australian, and Australia doesn't have an extremely comprehensive science program (we just do one type of science.) Our maths is quite good. I was wondering if, as a top student, I would find this difficult.:)
Well, about English, don’t worry ‘cause the level is some kind of a sick joke. Only the L course has a decent program in languages.
About maths and sciences, the course in Seconde is the same regardless if you’re in S, ES, or L. The Seconde is a general view on all the program, and then you decide which course you want to follow for your Première and Terminale.
Seconde’s program for Maths
For Physics-Chemistry
For Biology and Earth(Called SVT)
In Premiere, the level in Sciences will drastically increase in the S course. It will become just a little harder in ES, since this is not the aim of the ES course. ES stands for Economy and Social Issues, so it mostly focuses on Maths, whereas S (which stands for Sciences) focuses on Physics and Chemistry.
