France is the most visited country in the world. Are there anything that tourist do that piss you off? What are they?
There’s only one thing:
They’re not polite.
It may sound odd, but most of tourists are not. They don’t take time to say hello when entering in a shop, saying thank you when you give them some information, and they don’t say goodbye when they leave. You may think it’s a stupid thing to point that out, but really, the largest part of tourists believe that since they don’t speak your language, it doesn’t matter to remain polite. It’s extremely irritating, especially in jobs like mine: they enter your shop as if you don’t exist and don’t even answer your greetings.
To be honest, tourists’ behavior really depends on the traditions of their own country, and the cultural differences. This is something I witness for a couple of years now, since I’m working in a very touristic area and have to deal with a large amount of tourists on a daily basis.
I’ll be a bad teacher and give good and bad grades. The most polite are (from the best to the worst):
- Asia
- British Isles
- Arab Emirates
- Australia
- Northern Europe
- USA
- Southern Europe
I’m not including the rest of the world since only few tourists come from there. Consequently, I don’t have a solid opinion.
